PLAYGROUP

Fun and connection

Playgroup is a ministry of Berwick Church of Christ.  We are here to provide a safe and fun place for parents and young children to interact with each other and with other families.
All of our playgroups have leaders and helpers from the Christian community who endeavour to make our playgroup a caring and nurturing environment for adults and children who attend.
We offer a range of activities, including craft, painting, cutting and pasting, dressing up, outdoor play, play dough and music.
We follow Victorian school terms and public holidays apart from at the start and end of the year.
If you are interested in joining, please complete an Expressions of Interest Form – see links below.

SUE NICHOLLS

Playgroup Ministry Director

My name is Sue Nicholls and I oversee the Playgroup Ministry and have done so for many years. I work with some fabulous volunteers who help to run the groups and make families welcome. I started my playgroup journey as a mum in the playgroup with my own three children, now young adults, and really appreciated the caring environment. It was a natural progression for me to “give back” and get involved in making playgroup happen for others once my children were all at school.

We know that young families are often looking for fun and social connections for their children before they commence the formal learning environments of kinder and school. We offer a simple program with lots of time for children to explore the toys, equipment and activities and for adults to make connections and even have some “down-time” while their children are happily occupied.

Thanks for looking at our webpage and getting an idea of what we do. If you are interested in joining one of our groups please complete the “expressions of interest” form (or you can contact us by phone or email if you prefer). We hope to be able to find a position that suits you and your family.

Testimonies

Playgroup at Berwick Church of Christ has made a real difference in my life. We moved to this area, away from our family, soon after our second child was born so the friendships we formed and the connection to the child-free helpers in playgroup were really important.

I think I look forward to our playgroup session each week even more than my kids do.

Coming to playgroup always felt like being wrapped in a warm blanket. The atmosphere was always so caring and nurturing for myself and my children.
