The Mission and Vision of our Church.
"TO MAKE DISCIPLES OF JESUS AND MULTIPLY DISCIPLE-MAKING CHURCHES."
Our mission is based on the great commission of Jesus: Then Jesus came to them and said:
“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18-20)
Making disciples of Jesus (disciples are believers in Jesus who are learning how to live according to His way for life) is the mission of the church and when disciples are made new churches should be multiplied. We know from history that the Kingdom of God grows fastest and best when new churches are planted because they make the most disciples. For the sake of planning, we need to understand the components of the discipleship process:
- Evangelising the lost and bringing them to faith in Jesus Christ
- Baptising them in the name of Jesus
- Integrating them into the life of the church
- Teaching them to live in obedience to Jesus commands
- Multiplying churches that make disciples
Everything we do must cause us to prioritize doing the mission. We must align everything we do with our mission statement and the main points in the process above. This is key and crucial to our effectiveness.
"A DYNAMIC MOVEMENT OF GROWING CHURCHES DISCIPLING THE PEOPLE OF OUR CITY, OUR NATION, OUR WORLD."
Our vision is an picture of the future that we believe the Lord would have us aspire to. It answers the question, "If we faithfully carry out the mission, what would the church look like in future?”
