For over 20 years the Boys’ Brigade has advanced Christ’s Kingdom among boys. We provide a Christian community that supports boys and young men, and assists in their Christian growth, physical development and leadership training, while teaching life skills.

PROGRAM (Monday Nights)
1. Spiritual: Weekly devotions, worship nights
2. Social: Supportive Christian community, ‘squad time’ small groups
3. Physical: Physical games (e.g. poison ball, pony express, corner ball), camping preparation
4. Educational: Car maintenance, electronics, woodwork, survival skills and navigation.
OTHER OPPORTUNITES

Boys Brigade Captain

Thank you for coming here to find out more information about the Boys’ Brigade program at Berwick Church of Christ. We run most Monday nights and cater for boys aged from Grade 1 through to 18-year-old through 3 different age groups. We look forward to partnering with you so that together we can see your son develop ‘true Christian manliness’. We would love you to come along and give it a try at no cost for 3 weeks.

I started as a leader in Boys’ Brigade back in WA when I was about 25 (15+ years ago). Both me and my wife moved to Melbourne (Berwick) in February 2017. We then started attending Berwick Church of Christ as we knew that was the closest church with a Boys’ Brigade. Since then I have been involved with the Kids Church ministry and obviously the Boys’ Brigade.

In that time, I have been involved in 2 out of the 3 age groups (Officer-In-Charge of Anchors, Officer-In-Charge of Juniors) as well as supporting the Captain (at the time) with the administration side of things. At the start of 2021 I took on the role of Captain.

The Boys Brigade program runs on most Monday nights during the school term, with most weeks we are at Berwick Church of Christ. The program consists of 4 aspects (Physical, Spiritual, Educational and Social) and includes some age appropriate activities outside of the usual Monday night (camps, state events etc).
